Monitoring Performance against quality targets
QMS Contract Focus measures practice performance against many quality indicators, based on Read codes present in the patient record. These indicators include the 76 clinical indicators for the nGMS contract and approximately 300 additional indicators, based on NICE and NSF guidance, and local priorities.
Estimating QOF income
For the QOF disease area, Contract Focus produces a comprehensive report in numeric and graphically format showing how your practice is performing against a range of targets. For the 76 contract indicators Contract Focus:
- Provides results including most of the exception reporting for theQOF of nGMS
- Calculates the points scored under the QOF
- Displays your percentage achievement against target
- Calculates your expected income and the maximum achievable for your practice
- Identifies how many patients you need to target to achieve maximum income
- Calculates the additional income available from ensuring that additional patients meet the indicator
The income estimates for all domains of the QOF are based on configurable assumptions for national disease prevalence and average population size. Contract Focus also estimates your income for the non-clinical areas of the nGMS contract, based on data that you provide.
From the financial estimates page, links to patient lists allow you to identify the specific patients that do not meet the indicator, and the actions that are necessary in order to ensure that they do.
