Disease prevalence

For each of the diseases monitored in the QOF, prevalence statistics per practice can be viewed at the PCT.

Since the data collection also includes age and sex groupings, it is also possible to calculate age-standardised prevalence compared to the PCT and (where national figures are available) to national benchmarks. This calculation can be used to determine whether differences in disease prevalence are significant after the differences in age and sex distribution of the practice populations are removed.
